Our Inspiration

 

I was inspired to create my first signature neckpiece over three years ago which is featured above as the inspiration for my latest collection, "Brooches Are A Girl's Best Friend!" I was serving as a vice chair for a black tie fundraising gala for The Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey and couldn't find a necklace befitting for the fabulous Nicole Miller silk, crushed velvet and jacquard mutlicolor strapless dress I had chosen.

I had my sexy gold strappy Jimmy Choos but no necklace to fill the void of bare skin along my neckline. I needed a real statement piece to pull it all together and I came across a fantastic vintage brooch that ironically featured all of the colors in my dress which were the SAME colors of the event's decor which I had personally designed (I am also an interior designer with a flair for custom event decor).

So I decided to make a necklace out of the brooch and to my delight, my husband, who was my handsome date to the event, was so impressed and has since encouraged me to start my own business creating signature jewelry and accessories.

With my love for vintage jewelry, I had the distinct vision to create my signature "Be A Star!" debut collection to celebrate and put women in the spotlight they deserve while supporting numerous charities in an array of arenas. Here's a brief slideshow of some of my very first pieces that quickly sold out when I debuted my "Be A Star!" limited edition collection in Summer '09 to much acclaim:
